Our Presentation Slides

We chose statement 2 for this assignment. Besides than seeking for challenge, we are really excited about presenting thought provoking ideas and change the way people see things. As most of the people might think plastics are synthetic material, we are here to prove that they are wrong.

We combined our statement with an environmental issue and came up with "How plastics are affecting the Marine Life? "

These are the researches about plastics, proving plastics are original and natural according to the statement.

Design for member's shirt. Each of the shirts has different marine creature at the front corresponds to our theme. We did the animals in silhouette style, leaving some white spaces which forms plastics material inside the animal's body, indicating how plastics in the ocean are harming these creatures' life.

So far government and different institutes had work on solving this plastics pollution. One of the existing solution is to use replacement material instead of plastics, such as leaf plates. Even if this material end up in the ocean, at least it will not harm the animals if they accidentally eat the material.

However, we should understand these replacement materials will not solve the pollution issue. It is us who are using plastics but do not dispose of our trash carefully. Therefore, we hope to raise awareness about how important education plays here to ensure reduction of such pollution and we hope to see one day our ocean will be free from plastics.

Throughout this whole process, we have applied the Zig Zag theory in different stages. First of all, we discuss and brainstorm together to decide on our statement and the material we are using. We asked for opinion from our tutorial lecturer, Ms. Fu. We observe the environment around us, and decide to talk about pollution happening in the marine life. Throughout this process, we have also learn from each other. We exchange knowledges and understand each other's working style. We play around with different materials from the nature such as seashells and leaves. We fused our statement, which is about plastics together with our theme, Marine Life, and decide to present about how plastics are affecting the marine life. We choose the best design we have and finally created this outfit.
